Two men held with stolen items
Detectives assigned to the St James Police Division have arrested and charged two men with housebreaking and larceny following an incident in their community between March 18 and 22.
Charged are 23-year-old Marvin Palmer, otherwise called 'Boom', and 18-year-old Corey Foreman, otherwise called 'Beanie', both labourers of Unity Hall, Anchovy, in St James. Reports from the Montego Bay police are that on March 18, a woman securely locked her house before leaving. Upon her return on the 22nd, she discovered that her front door had been damaged and that culprits had gained entry into the premises. Subsequent checks revealed that several items, valued at more than $200,000 were stolen. The matter was later reported to the police, who immediately launched an investigation.
Lawmen, acting on information, later conducted an operation at the accused men's residence, where the stolen items were recovered and Palmer was arrested. His co-accused, Foreman, later turned himself in. They were both charged on Monday, after a question-and-answer session in the presence of their attorney. Their court dates have not yet been finalised.
