Mother-in-law caught us in the act

Dear Pastor,

I am a 19-year-old girl and I want to tell you about an embarrassing situation I faced.

I have had a boyfriend since I was 17. He is twice my age. He is the one who took my virginity and he takes very good care of me because I am from a very poor family. He is still living at home with his mother and sister. His father works in the US driving trucks. One day he told me that he wanted me to visit him at his house because his mother and sister were going to a funeral and wouldn’t be back until late that night.

I went to see him and he was ready for me in every way. He ordered food and then we played music from his computer. We decided to have sex. He told me that he wanted me to bathe him before we had sex, so I agreed. I took off my clothes and went into the bathroom with him and scrubbed him down. When I dried him off, I asked him where the condom was and he said I should not be worried about that, he would pull out. I told him that was too risky and he said he had done that before.

I insisted that I would not have sex with him; he said I was spoiling the evening. So I gave in. By that time it was getting late. He did one round with me and he pulled out; he did not discharge in me. But he wanted more, and to be truthful, I wanted more also, so we started again. We heard when a car pulled up, at least, I heard the car, but he said I should relax. The front door was locked, but it was his sister and his mother who came in. His mother saw him having sex with me. Both of us were naked. His mother stood at the door of his room watching us before we were aware that she was standing there. She called out to him and he jumped off me. I tried to cover myself with the sheet from the bed, but she said to me, “Don’t bother cover up.”

My boyfriend didn’t know what to tell her. After she told me not to cover up, she walked away and said “At least you all could have locked the room door.” Her daughter also saw us having sex. I was so embarrassed. I have called her and told her that I am very sorry for not conducting myself in a better way in her house. I did not want to call her, but my boyfriend told me that it was the right thing to do. She told me that she does not have anything against me, and she would want her son to marry me because I am an ambitious girl. I have not said anything to her daughter. I don’t think I would ever go back to that woman’s house. Maybe if her son and I get married, but not before. I am too ashamed to go back there.

My boyfriend told me that I have the same thing as his mother and sister. He is only sorry that we were not more careful. If we were satisfied in doing one round, we wouldn’t have been caught.

You made a mistake. You seem to have a steady relationship. This man and you have been going together from you were 17.

He has been assisting you financially and I get the impression that he respects you. He wanted both of you to be together on that particular day because he was told that his mother and sister would be back from the funeral late. You took the risk in having unprotected sex with him. As you said, both of you felt that you needed to go for a second round. Then his mother and sister came home and caught you in bed. What a big embarrassment! You have apologised to this woman. I am sure her son has done the same. You do not need to do anymore. She will always remember what she saw and her daughter will always remember that she saw you having sex with her brother.

Yes, you feel ashamed for what happened. You need to be more careful in the future and that is all I wish to say.
