Construction workers hit with firearm charges

Akeem Edwards, 27, of Race Course Lane, Kingston 14, and 33-year-old Gratino Green, of Regent Street, Kingston 14, both construction workers, have been charged in connection with a shooting incident along Blount Street in the parish on March 24.

The men have been charged with shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorised possession of ammunition. Reports from the Denham Town police are that at 5 a.m., a man was walking along the roadway when he was approached by the accused men, who opened gunfire at him. The man managed to escape without injury, and the assailants fled the scene on a motorcycle.

Following a report and subsequent investigation into the matter, the accused men were subsequently arrested and charged based on witness statements. Their court date is being finalised.
