Chuck Fenda delivered a marquee performance t0 a packed audience during the Limon Carnival held at the JAPDEVA Fair Ground in Limon, Costa Rica last weekend.

The artiste took the initiative to wade into the VIP area which was full of government officials and other dignitaries, so that he could connect with the audience who he felt were located too far from the stage. He deejayed I Swear to major forwards from the audience.

" Good over evil, tell dem a life over death," he deejayed, as a man with a torch blazed an orange tongue of fire behind him that lit up the night sky. Chuck Fenda then paused to give the enthusiastic audience a brief history lesson, reminding them that Jamaicans were recruited to construct the Atlantic railroad in 1871, which helped to connect the Costa Rican capital, San Jose, with the Caribbean coast for coffee exports. This railroad led to the founding of Limon, and Jamaicans were essential to establishing the city and its economic activities. Their descendants have shaped Limon's unique cultural identity.

"I swear my foreparents, ah we build the railroad, all who love the Caribbean, mek mi hear oonu," Chuck Fenda told the crowd.

Once he got the audience energised, he poured a steady stream of hits, as he delivered dynamic renditions of fan favourites including Cry For My People and the fiery Gash Dem and Light Dem. He then segued into a more romantic mood with the smooth Are You Coming Over Tonight and closed strongly with Material Things, which appeared to be his most popular song in Costa Rica. He whipped the audience into a frenzy with this rallying cry to value spirituality and morality over material possessions and members of the audience raised their voices in a powerful chorus. Chuck Fenda created a true moment of magic - thousands of voices joined together, chanting every lyric in a show of solidarity and spirit that defined the heart of conscious reggae.

The entertainer continues to spread a message of truth, unity, and unrelenting energy as he has embarked on his 'Can't Stop The Fire Tour' in 2025, with stops in countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, the UK, and Denmark. He has performed at major festivals such as Reggae Jam in Germany and Bournemouth Reggae Weekender in the UK in recent weeks.
