Seville chases victory in Texas
WORLD Championships 100 metres gold medallist, Oblique Seville, will contest his second 100m race of the season, leading a strong Jamaican contingent at Saturday’s World Continental Tour Gold meeting at Texas A&M University in College Station, United States.
The Jamaican will report fresh off his season-opener in the 100m at Saturday's JAAA/PUMA All Comers Meet inside the National Stadium, where he clocked 9.96 seconds to win.
He will be joined by fellow Jamaican Kadrian Goldson, who has already clocked 9.99 this season, in a formidable field that includes Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes, Canada's Andre De Grasse, and the United States trio of Brandon Hicklin, Ronnie Baker, and Trayvon Bromell.
WOMEN’S 100M
Four Jamaicans will contest the women's 100m, led by World Relays 4x100m
Gold-medallist Jodean Williams. She will be joined by Niesha Burgher, Briana Williams, and Sabrina Dockery. Tamari Davis will spearhead the United States challenge in the event.
World Championships 100m hurdles representative, Ackera Nugent, will compete in the women's 100m hurdles alongside Demisha Roswell, who is coming off a third-place finish two weeks ago at the LA Fest Track Meet.
The field will also include Americans Nia Ali, Alia Armstrong, and Grace Stark, along with France's Cyrena Samba-Mayela.
Andrenette Knight will contest the women's 400m hurdles, as she looks to improve on her 8th-place finish at the Rabat Diamond League. She will line up against American Shamier Little and Canada's Savannah Sutherland.
The other Jamaican female in action will be Stacy-Ann Williams in the women's 400m. Williams will face a strong field, led by Nigeria's Ella Onojuvwevwo, who recently ran a personal best 49.59 seconds, along with Americans Britton Wilson and Bailey
Lear.
World Championships bronze medallist, Adelle Tracy, will contest the women's 800m;
Tyler Mason and national 800m record-holder Navasky Anderson will be the other Jamaicans in action, competing in their respective events on the track, while Raymond Richards and Romaine Beckford will contest the high jump.
